I’ve been so drawn into repentance lately. I had a dream a few weeks ago & in it I was walking through a church with a pastor, talking about Bible prophecy and what’s happening in the world, and he started sharing from his heart about what is most beneficial for the church at this time. ‘Repentance’, he said. I don’t recall anything he said from that point because in the dream I felt a sorrow rise up in my heart, and I walked away from him to pray.
I just felt moved to say sorry to God, and to ask Him to cleanse me. I didn’t feel condemned, it was a kind of awareness in my heart of how unclean sin is, the darkness of it, and also of the pain it causes God. I could feel how it hurt Him. It didn’t overwhelm His love though, I didnt feel anger or hate or aggression from Him as I prayed. He was just there ready and willing to give me the cleansing shower that I felt like I wanted & needed in the blood of Christ & to relieve me of the burden of it.
Most days since I had that dream I’ve had the desire to spend time praying this way, just opening my heart I can feel this sorrow over my sin, so I allow it and just receive His loving cleansing. It feels good, refreshing, purifying. I have no idea if this is just a personal season He is leading me into or how long it will last. Sharing in case it means something for someone else.
It's easy to say you believe in God's promise to take you through the red sea when a bridge or boat is available but what if a bridge or boat is unavailable?
The Lord gave a word to the people of Samaria through prophet Elisha in 2nd Kings chapter 7 verse 1.

The Lord gave a word to the people of Samaria through prophet Elisha in 2nd Kings chapter 7 verse 1.

Tomorrow about this time shall a measure of fine flour be sold for a shekel, and two measures of barley for a shekel, in the gate of Samaria.
What was the situation of the people of Samaria when this word of the Lord was given?
The people of Samaria were experiencing famine and it was so severe that some women turned to cannibalism.
There was famine because they were put under siege by the army of Syria and there was no sign of it ending any time soon.
If God gave a word through his prophet that a measure of flour and two measures of barley will be sold for a shekel in the Gate of Samaria, it meant that food will be available and be sold for the normal price.
If food would be available and sold for the normal price, it meant the famine would cease.
I believe majority of those who heard the word of the Lord through Elisha may have asked among themselves,
Where would the food come from and how would the food come when we are currently under siege?
There were countries or cities from where the people of Samaria could have gone to for help or support during the famine but the Syrians surrounded them to ensure that it didn't happen.
The army of Syria were waiting for the people of Samaria to starve into submission and then take them captive.
The presence of the army of Syria was enough reason to make the people doubt God's word through Elisha.
An officer to the king even asked Elisha a question, Behold, if the Lord would make windows in heaven, might this thing be? (2Kings.7:2)
If the siege had ended before the word was given, the officer may not have doubted because men would be sent to neighbouring cities to ask for food and support.
The word of the Lord came to the people of Samaria through Elisha not in the absence of the Syrian army but in the presence of the Syrian army.
The word of the Lord came not when the siege had ended but when the siege was still on.
The officer responded to the word of the Lord through Elisha based on the current situation of Samaria.
He couldn't just figure out or see how what God said would come to pass.
Imagine if you were living from paycheck to paycheck and a prophet of the Lord came to you and said, thus says the Lord, by this time tomorrow you will buy your own house and longer be a tenant.
What would your response be?
Our minds will go to how much we have in our bank account which is not even enough to buy a toy house.
We would think about the debts we owe and about the salary we receive monthly which is not even enough to take care of our basic needs.
We would even go up to the extent of trying to see if there is any person among our friends or family that is wealthy enough to gift us a house.
What we are doing is that, we are trying to figure out how God's word will come to pass.
We would think about all the options we have and realise that there is no way we can ever afford a house.
Do you realise that we often judge and respond to God's word based on our circumstances and situations? Oftentimes we doubt God's word due to where we are and how things are with us.
The situation of Sarah as an old woman who had gone pass the age of childbirth, made her to laugh when the Lord told Abraham that she will give birth to a son. (Genesis.18:9-14)
God will give you a word not in the absence of a hopeless situation but in the face of a hopeless situation.
All you would be seeing are reasons God's word cannot come to pass but you must not allow it to make you doubt God's word like the officer in Samaria did.
What the Lord said through Elisha to the people of Samaria in the face of a severe famine came to pass in a way no one would ever have expected.
"The promises of God are YES and AMEN."
Don't think about your circumstances or situations when you hear the promises of the Lord instead think about how great your God is.
God isn't affected by circumstances or situations and they cannot limit Him. We are to believe God's word over our circumstances and situations.
The way things are with you or where you are may say it's impossible but the bible says with God all things are possible.
The oppositions or contradictions are not meant to make you worry or doubt but to test your faith and make you see how mighty God is.
We are to believe that what God said is true even when our situation or circumstances says otherwise.
God told the people of Samaria what would happen the next day but He didn't tell them how it will happen.
God isn't going to give you all the details or a sign because we walk by faith and not by sight.
Your duty is not to try to figure out how what God said will come to pass but to believe that it will come to pass and wait expectantly.
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:9)
My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: and I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
